Most people close the lids on their grills when they are done cooking and leave them until they are needed the next time. Closing the lid provides some protection, but not enough.
A rainstorm with winds of 10 mph or more can blow water into the grill. Over time, the rainwater will rust out portions of the grill and can hinder the burners’ ability to provide a consistent flame. A good barbeque cover will extend the life of your grill for years to come.
You can find a barbeque cover to fit your grill if a cover didn’t come with your grill or the old cover has been lost or damaged.
Instructions
Step 1. Get out your measuring tape, paper and pen. Writing down the measurements of your grill will save you from measuring repeatedly when you get distracted and can’t remember the numbers at the store.
Step 2. Measure the entire length of the grill. The full length is the first measurement for grill sizes. Write down the measurement, rounded up to the nearest inch.
Step 3. Take a measurement from the front handle of the grill to the back of the grill. Measure the outside of the grill at the widest point. Write this second number down.
Step 4.Measure the height of the grill from the ground to the top of the grill. The new grill cover doesn’t have to go to the ground. At the least, the grill cover should reach to the top of the wheels (10 inches off the ground). Write down the height as the third number in the cover size. You should have a result like 52 by 27 by 44 inches.
Step 5 .Notice where the grill is located on the entire grilling unit. The grill may be in the middle with a burner/table on either side or the grill may be located on the left or right side of a single burner/table.
Step 6 .Buy a barbeque cover made to fit the measurements you have taken.
